Tell us about your role at MCC
I have a split role, covering Quality and Health & Safety, and I'm also the Rewind Team Leader.
As the Quality and Health & Safety Coordinator I am responsible for:
- Coordination of our non-conformance reports (NCR’s)
- In house training
- Helping to implement H&S and quality initiatives in the workplace
- Participating in Audits
The Rewind Team are responsible for the operation of our rewind machines, finishing our labels into rolls. As the Team Leader I am responsible for:
- Prioritising jobs
- Working with the team to achieve the daily targets
- Team meetings
- Training and development
- And I still run the machines from time to time
What is your favourite part of your role
The interaction with all the staff, meeting targets and continually learning.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to work in labels
Don’t be afraid to give anything a go, there’s a great support network here and help is always there if you need it. I've had many opportunities since starting as a rewinder at MCC in 2007. I moved to a 2IC position in the Rewind department, then became Team Leader. Later I was also the Team Leader for the Despatch and Finished Goods departments, managing 13 team members. I then moved into my current role, which I really enjoy.
