We have the capabilities to print a wide range of embellishments and effects via both our flexo and digital technology. Embellishments and effects elevate your label design, adding the finishing touch to enhance the presentation of your brand.

Cold Foil

An alternate method of foiling that requires a plate and is more cost effective than hot foil due to the lower set up costs. A selected range of colours and effects such as holographic are available.

Emboss

A textured, prestigious effect created by raising a design or image from the label surface to give a tactile feel or highlight certain design elements.

Silk Screen

The screen process has the ability to print a smooth, controllable lay-down of ink. It is used to create high build coatings (see below) and to print high density, opaque inks. This gives excellent depths of colour and is particularly effective when using a white either on its own or to provide a base for vibrant design elements.

High Build

Utilising the silk screen process we can create a High Build coating that gives a tactile, premium effect that highlights key design areas. Also called braille effect, it sits above the label surface.

Lamination

The entire label surface can be finished in either a gloss or matt lamination film, which provides a high impact finish in addition to strong moisture and scuff protection.

Flood Coating

The entire label surface can be finished in either a gloss or matt coating.

Spot Coating

Gloss or matt spot coatings can be used over an element of the design to highlight it or to create a pattern. When used with a contrasting lamination film, a very effective look can be achieved.

Textured Coatings

We have a number of coating options for achieving a textured look and feel to the label, including:

• Sandpaper coating, a super-gritty texture
• Naseby coating, a pearlised textured effect
• Soft Touch, for a softly tactile effect 
• Texture Coat, for a tactile effect

Metallic Ink

Metallic inks are used to create a similar effect to foil, via the shine of the metallic particles found in the ink.

Specialty Inks and Coatings

These include:

• Thermochromic - this ink changes colour when exposed to a certain temperature. A range of temperature bands and colours are available, and the change can be reversible or irreversible
• Scratch n Sniff - a wide range of custom and stock scents are available
• Daylight Varnish - this changes colour when exposed to sunlight 
• Scratch off - this effect is perfect for concealing information such as codes for competitions
• Glitter - glitter-infused coatings create an eye-catching design effect and are available in a range of pigments and looks. They are best used on darker colours to create maximum impact
• Black light - clear to the naked eye, this effect is revealed under UV, or ‘black’, light. It is primarily used as a security device for brand authentication or as a promotional effect
• Glow in the dark - a perfect novelty effect for secret promotional messages
• Chameleon - this special ink creates a colour shift when viewed from different angles
