Our flexo presses can print up to 11 colours, plus a range of embellishment options including:
The majority of our presses use UV inks, but we also have the ability to print water-based inks on specialised flexo presses.
Our flexo presses achieve high quality print and are well set up for long label runs. We have a range of automation equipment for continuous, efficient manufacturing. We also use inline camera inspection to ensure consistent and repeatable quality throughout the entire run.
Flexographic requires the use of polymer plates that carries a raised image. The raised portion of the plate accepts the ink. When the plate is pressed against the substrate the ink transfers from the plate to the substrate. Each colour printed requires a separate plate, which when printed in sequence creates the final image.
Normally once all the colours of the label have been printed, the same machine will have stations that will apply coatings, die cut the labels and add any embellishments required.
As the plates are a polymer and have a raised surface, a range of substrates can be printed on at speeds well over 100 metres a minute.
