Hally Labels celebrates responsible forest management on FSC® Friday
Friday 25 September was FSC Friday, an annual event to share our commitment to responsible forest management. Run by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC), the event is designed to increase knowledge, encourage commitment and raise appreciation for responsible forestry around the world. We celebrated with morning tea at each of our four factories – check out the gallery below.
The goal of FSC Friday is to raise awareness by encouraging consumers, companies, communities and stakeholders to share their commitment to FSC and responsible forestry - whether through forest management practices, or sourcing and buying FSC certified materials and products.
We'll be celebrating seven years of FSC chain of custody certification and the supply of billions of labels each year on certified materials. Chain of custody certification is the mechanism used to ensure the traceability of wood material from a certified forest to any point along on the supply chain. Certification allows companies throughout the supply chain to label their certified products, which in turn enables consumers to identify and choose products that support responsible forest management practice.
The theme for 2020 was Forests for All Together, celebrating the importance of bringing people together to responsibly care for forests. From environmentalists to big business, from Indigenous Peoples to communities and governments, from forest workers to careful consumers – we all work together to care for our forests.
