Supporting our community through four local environmental charities
At Hally Labels we have a role to play in the communities in which our business operates, and we endeavour to contribute to them in a meaningful and material way. One example involves our annual donation to an environmental charity that is in close proximity to each of our four plants. We're delighted to support the important work these organisations do to conserve and improve our environment.
On behalf of our Auckland team, we donate to Project Crimson Trust’s “Trees That Count” programme. Our assistance this year will fund the planting of 278 native trees including the beautiful pōhutukawa and kowhai, and the imposing tōtara, kahikatea and kauri. Since 2016, Trees That Count have funded the planting of an incredible 32,504,632 native trees.
Our Brisbane team contribute to Queensland Trust for Nature. Our donation specifically goes towards re-vegetation and restoration work at their Koala Crossing property west of Brisbane. Koala Crossing represents four different ecosystems and supports a large variety of vulnerable species including the tusked frog, collared delma, glossy black cockatoo, powerful owl, black breasted button quail, spotted-tailed quoll, brush-tailed rock wallaby and of course the koala.
For our Christchurch site we donated to Trees for Canterbury, a not-for-profit native plant nursery and welfare-providing organisation. They provide environmental education, grow native plants and undertake plantings with community organisations and schools throughout Canterbury.
And finally, on behalf of our Sydney team we help Cumberland Land Conservancy. Volunteer-operated, the organisation is dedicated to acquiring land for conservation. They own and manage four properties in Western Sydney, representing 49 hectares of biodiversity habitat that conserves key linkages for wildlife and supports critically endangered wildlife and forest.
